4 Possible Reasons Your ASMR Channel Isn't Growing

     !Breaking News!

Starling ASMR has been blowing up on YouTube, aquiring over 2000 subscriber this week! Because of this everybody wants to know her secret!

Today, we are going to look into how she has achieved her results.

Starling ASMR began her channel on October 29th, 2019. It was a Tuesday. One thing that I have noticed watching her videos is that Starling is [not] a graduate of ASMR University! [as it turns out, she is not a graduate of ASMR University; she just thought it was a creative prop, and she did not in fact realize that ASMR University is a real thing! haha]. This could explain how she has experienced such rapid growth on YouTube. However it is fair to say that by observing what Starling does and implementing some of those same practices, and by opening yourself up to more learning, you could potentially achieve results similar to hers.

1. You're not trying new things

Rapid experimentation is a small business practice you should be implementing with your ASMR channel. If all your videos are similar to one another, and you’re never trying anything new, you are missing the opportunity to find your strengths, and discover your weaknesses.

ASMR Haven has a totally different style than Starling ASMR, yet she is also receiving substantial growth on YouTube.

Starling is on the left and Haven on the right. Both of these videos have 10’s of thousands of views, and both of these asmrtists have received thousands of new followers over the last two weeks.

If you have been trying only roleplay videos, consider implementing a new format, perhaps one where you just focus on tapping, or visuals. Have you ever seen a silent asmr video? There a channel concept all in-of itself.

Trying new methods of inducing ASMR will also inspire your viewers to conclude on what else they want to see and hear. Make sure to educate your viewers that they need to inform you of what they want from your channel, but be even more sure to listen, and implement what the majority wants to see. They might want to see your artistic side; ASMRctica has a great format, as we’ll talk about later.

2. Your Production Value Doesn't Provide

Consistency in production value is so important, and that’s why all your favorite asmrtists focus on it. Take Tippy Tappy ASMR for example. Almost a year and a half into his channel, Tappy has garnered shy of 10k followers w/600k+ total views. All of his videos are of high production value, and this why everything he has uploaded since November of 2019 have over 1000 views, even though he only has 10k followers.

Still, I believe Tippy Tappy should have more followers than he does. For votd-86 I highlighted a video where he is tapping on shoes. That video has over 11k views! Although Tappy has received over 1000 views on every video since November, he only has two videos that broke 3000 views within the last three months. Why is this? His production value is high!

The answer is Beef. Tippy Tappy ASMR gets more views on videos where he supplies more Beef.

The video on the left where Tappy is Darth Vader, he supplies Beef in the form of originality.
The video on the right where Tappy is a cat burglar, he lacks Beef because he is supplying something many many other asmrtists supply. If he focuses on educating individuals, high-level theatrics, the occasional roleplay, and cuts by 75% the amount of ‘generic asmr’ he produces, I believe Tappy will receive a strong boost in his viewership. He has definitely tried new things, and now he needs to focus on what works, while still balancing out creating what he enjoys creating.

Of course, I mean these words to be of no harm, and we all know Tippy Tappy does not need my help to make ASMR. However, who are we as a community to not offer criticism, so that we as a community can grow?

3. Confidence. Confidence! Confidence..!

Do you have the confidence to admit to yourself what asmrtists you don’t like? Have you ever discovered an asmrtist that was not pleasurable to your ears, and then examined why you found yourself turning away from their channel? It’s quite an experience.

The more you film videos, the more confident you will get in your filming of those videos. However [and this goes for all individuals, not just asmrtists] there are many ways to build your confidence!

Learning new skills, reading, and networking with individuals are three strong ways to naturally build your confidence. – After you finish reading Sapiens, you will find yourself talking matter-of-factly to your audience about the knowledge you have gained, and they will appreciate your confidence on the matter. – That is just one example of how reading will increase your knowledge, while also helping to inspire new content for your channel.

4. Where's the Beef?

The ASMR Community is a community of peace, love, and prosperity. What I want to know is, where’s the Beef? Do your videos have enough calories to sustain your hungry viewers? The world is starving for good content [and politically correct jokes]. Can you supply what the people need – they need more mmm in the middle! Your audience [or potential audience] does not want to follow the carrot! They want to ride the horse!

Both of these video supply serious Beef [or Beyond Beef, if you’re into that] in their own way. The video on the left w/ASMRctica supplies the beef in the form of both original art, and a full-circle creation of said art. Your viewers will take great satisfaction in the completion of you projects, and so take into consideration what you want to achieve. At the start of the above video, we all know what asmrctica wants to achieve, which is the drawing of a map. How can you implement a similar strategy, making it easy to communicate to your viewers what you do, while also incorporating them in the process [either by involving them in the process directly, or showing them a process in it’s entirety].

The video on the right w.Moongem ASMR supplies the Beef in the sense that she literally gives her viewers the opportunity to affect the outcome of the video! It’s like Choose Your Own Adventure ASMR edition…except this time nobody is getting sued. Moongem has only been creating content for slightly over two months, and she has 317 subscriber with 3.1k total views. Being however that she supplies the Beef, I expect we will see her channel grow quite rapidly.

Is it confusing that I keep using the word Beef? Well I’ll tell you! Beef is anything that your viewers consume. If they don’t consume it, then it’s sour milk.

Nobody consumes sour milk.

!In Conclusion!

There is opportunity in ASMR! If you’ve found this article I’d say you’re on the right track to success. I will take that one step further and say that if you’ve read up to this point, you’re doing what I call “trusting the process,” which often times means believing an individual in regards to success, when perhaps you don’t fully understand the reasoning behind what that individual is suggesting you implement, change, or focus on.

Keep consistent, be patient with your production process, create what your viewers wants to see, and do it all with confidence! I look forward to featuring you for our Video Of The Day.

There are literally dozens of videos made by asmrtists to assist you in creating your own top quality ASMR!

Everyday Sobriety Advice

I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.

When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”

Good luck, My Friend

Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.

Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”

Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”

Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”

Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”

I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.

Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.

If you are looking or more information about ASMR, I’ve found the best place to learn about the subject is ASMR University. Their information is accurate [to the best of my knowledge], and plentiful. I mostly work with the application of ASMR, but there is a whole lot more to ASMR than using it to gain sobriety or fall asleep, including the history and the science of it.
