A New Kind Of Rehab

I’ve never been to Jamaica, but I have no doubts that I would enjoy it there. Do you remember that time Adele rocked the bantu knots and everyone across the globe gave her shit about it? What if I told you…I had never even heard of a bantu knot until that happened? It definitely wasn’t the first time I saw the hairstyle, and, actually, it probably wasn’t even the first time someone told me what that hairstyle was called, but it was the first time that that hairstyle made an impact on my life to the point that I remembered it. I ain’t bantu forget it now!

Hmm, and I just tried looking up some information about the most popular flags in the world, and can you believe I didn’t find any top five lists which possessed the Jamaican flag? Personally, I think that behind America, Japan and Brazil, Jamaica has the most memorable flag in the world. I’m not sure if I think that way because I am from the US – and we are on the same side of the planet as Jamaica – or because I listen to a lot of Bob Marley, but the Jamaican flag is one of the few that I can identify with ease.

I’m going to tell you about this not so crazy idea I have, and if you are a brave soul, you can reach out and let me know what you think.

Sobriety Journeys…which is 100% not as intense as you think. Do you read this blog everyday? Haha.

Remember, I smoke weed, like…everyday; and I’m only reiterating that to personify how different my program is from your traditional rehab programs. I used to be shy about my cannabis consumption on this blog, but after months and months of daily writing, it’s obvious that I must speak my truth. These sobriety journey’s have nothing to do with smoking weed, but they have everything to do with trusting my process, and so I can’t lie to you about any part of my process. I’m very confident that I can help individuals the world across live better lives, particularly those suffering from addictions to alcohol and hard drugs, but I can not help anyone if I don’t tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth – so help me god! [god is not part of this program, but I’m also not going to hassle you about your spirituality].

Smoking cannabis would not be part of my sobriety journeys, although it definitely could be. It depends on where we go!

Here’s the basis of my conclusions upon why and how I know sobriety journey’s would work: Addiction Treatment centers in America cost, on average, between $14,000 and $27,000 for a 30 day program [just pulled that source from Google…I am highly disappointed in myself for taking on such a big idea with this article, yet only giving myself one hour to write this. The depth of my knowledge will certainly not be properly represented in this article, but let’s continue anyway. (I woke up an hour late today)]. Does that sound like something you can afford? waitwaitwait. Does that sound like something an individual fighting a debilitating addiction could afford? So many parents in the United States sell their homes to put the children they love through those rehab programs…and those programs only work for about 10% of people. We know this because almost all of those centers use the 12-step program, and we know that the 12-step program only works for 8-10% of individuals who try it out.

For $5,000 dollars, I will take you on a 30-day guided journey through India, Jamaica, Brazil, Vietnam, Thailand, Tanzania – hell we can even go to Bali! That’s not all the countries we could go to, but this is a program I only conceived within the last two months, and I haven’t finished structuring it. For $5,000 I can’t take you on a journey through England, Germany, Italy…we couldn’t even go to Poland for five grand. All that being said, I have unshakable confidence that a 30 days journey through another country with a confident and sober alcoholic would change your life forever – especially if that someone is me.

OKAY! I’m going to wrap this article up before I start to helllllllllla ramble. Some of my ideas are crazier than others, but here’s the bottom line: if you are struggling with addiction, and you have $5,000 ready to spend on rehabilitation – I’m ready to go today. I will help you get your travel documents prepared, and I will do 30 days of follow up with you after we return.

Let’s dance.

Everyday Sobriety Advice

I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.

When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”

Good luck, My Friend

Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.

Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”

Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”

Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”

Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”

I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.

Remember!

Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.
