The ASMR Daily 193
Sausages and Alcoholism
Fast ASMR has never been my favorite style, but today’s Asmrtist might have it perfected. Abby ASMR only recently begun her journey into the world of creating ASMR, but her profile says she’s been listening to it for 8 years! Woo! That’s longer than I’ve been listening to ASMR! Impressive. I didn’t discover ASMR until I was 20 years old, but it could have impacted my life more significantly if I had discovered it earlier; especially if I had a blog like this to guide my use of it!
Watching ASMR is easy, let’s be real. This is not me knocking things that are easy! I love things that are easy, and I do not think it’s wrong to make decisions based on what is easy…at least sometimes. But when it comes to ASMR? Yes! It’s the easy route and I encourage you to take it. If you could gain sobriety by sitting at home and watching YouTube videos, wouldn’t that be the dream? Wouldn’t that seem too easy? I think not.
Nothing is easy, and so nothing can be too easy. Except for frozen dinners, now those are too easy.
According to her profile on YouTube, Abby ASMR is located in Germany. It’s wonderful to know that ASMR is accepted and used worldwide, and actually, more people are coming to this blog from Germany than any other county in the world after The US, UK, and Canada. Ooo, how I long to go to Germany! I have so many friends there after working in a hostel for a whole year! German’s travel. Somebody once told me, in a shady back alley off Bui Vien Street, that Germans eat sausages because they are cheap, and they like to have the extra money for travel. Is that true, Germans? Führt das Essen von Würsten zu Wohlstand und Freiheit? Because it sounds like it does, and I think more American’s should make an effort to control what they put into their bodies; I’m talking about food, drugs, and food that is drugs.
My Midwestern American friends have problems with self control, and so do I. In Wisconsin, you don’t stop drinking alcohol at a bar until you either blackout, or the bartender refuses to serve you anymore alcohol. I’m serious af right now! This is totally normal in Wisconsin, and I didn’t even realize it wasn’t normal other places, until I heard another Wisconsinite bring it up while we were both in Seattle.
In most places, the bartender will cut you off after you have had too much. Not in Wisconsin. I’ve only been cut off by a bartender twice in my entire life! Because the other times I blacked-out. Some of those times I made it home.
If I had had Abby ASMR way way way way way back in the day, I might have had a much easier time fighting my alcoholism. Her videos are practically addictive in and of themselves! I found today’s video to be rather…demanding, and I didn’t like it while it was happening haha, but I liked how I felt after the video was over! I mean, seriously. I’m going to have to watch more of her videos. ASMR that is slightly annoying is the future [I’m sorry to call your content slightly annoying Abby, but idk how else to phrase it!]. Does it not frustrate you when you go to the doctor and they have nothing nice to say? Does it not annoy you when you have to follow many small instructions to pass a meaningless test? Well, today’s video might be a struggle to get through, but I need you to do me a favor, and I need you to get through it for me. Okay? And don’t drink any alcohol for 24 years after the video ends.
If you can’t handle Abby talking fast at you for 18 minutes, you’re going to have a difficult time working through the slow, frustrating, and annoying process of addiction recovery. Don’t give up, but do understand what you’re up against. Until tomorrow, friends.

Everyday Sobriety Advice
I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.
When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”
Good luck, My Friend
Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.
Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”
Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”
Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”
Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”
I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.
Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.

If you are looking or more information about ASMR, I’ve found the best place to learn about the subject is ASMR University. Their information is accurate [to the best of my knowledge], and plentiful. I mostly work with the application of ASMR, but there is a whole lot more to ASMR than using it to gain sobriety or fall asleep, including the history and the science of it.
