The Addiction Recovery Daily 242
The Last Post and The First ASMR Video
The time is 05:39 and I am writing to you from my father’s garage. This is where I do all my work, pretty much. I’ve been living here Since February. Prior to this I was living in San Francisco for about 3 years. I lived in Chinatown, or North Beach, depending on which direction you looked haha. I worked for this mac n cheese restaurant while I lived there, and they labeled themselves as a tech company… perhaps it’s the only tech company I’ve worked for? And that company raised $1,000,000 [one million dollars] in thirty days! Can you believe that? And then they filmed a commercial, and I got to be in the commercial. Over 7 million people saw that mf, but I don’t think any of them hunted me down and read my blog, which would have been the best outcome. But anyway, working for that company I got to see, in real time, what fund raising looks like. I remember when this one guy came in, and after I asked him if he wanted anything to eat and he said no, we just shot the shit for awhile. Then him and my boss sat down for like…like an hour, but maybe it was only 45 minutes, and then this one guy invested $250,000 in my bosses company! Fucking lit! My boss told me about it; he was all excited. There were two bosses, actually. See, when I started that job, there was a different set of owners. Two gay men, both shorter and more fashionable than I…and younger too. That’s SF for you. So one of the gentlemen left to go to college, and I think he got bought out [instead of maintaining ownership], but then I didn’t understand why Big C let another person buy in right away. It was like one owner left, and another owner came in shortly afterward. But the new guy? He failed me in new and powerful ways. After graduating college and working at Amazon for a year while living with his parents, he had about 100k ready to invest, and he invested it in Mac n Cheese. This man told me that he had a passion for food – for cooking. That man was as trying-to-figure-it-out as I am! Seriously! If I know one thing forsure, it’s that that man did not understand the formula of working in a fast food restaurant. I told him he was the worst boss I’ve ever had, which still stands. After that job my next set of bosses were better, but more corporate and sinister. Nothing will ever beat that mac n cheese job, because the job was easy, and it was in San Francisco. My next job was too easy, and it wasn’t as rewarding. You know what I learn from easy jobs? How to create easy jobs. The ease of a job is relative to the quality of the boss or manager. What’s easy for you probably isn’t easy for me, and vice versa. A job should be challenging, but not frustrating. Fun, but not distracting. Your job should be easy…for you! Now, I realize that’s not an exact science, but I am under the belief that individuals who specialize in a specific skill for the purposes of monetization are happier, and healthier. The more skilled an individual is, the easier they make money, and the more time they have to take care of themselves. The more skills you learn, the easier life gets. I’m not extremely skilled yet, but you know who is skilled? My old, new boss; the second guy, that Big C brought on. He graduated college, worked at amazon for 1 year and had 100k in savings! That’s a skilled individual. He was so skilled, he was able to make a lot of money, fast. His position in life meant that he could save the money, and quickly move into another area of expertise, which, when I knew him, he was just entering, and he was a sad excuse for a restaurant employee…but he could go back to Amazon and make 100k per year without a doubt, which is what most American’s only dream they could do! I meet a lot of people, and then all want an easy, low commitment job. Computer Programming is the answer. When you make enough money, you are not tethered. So…anyway, Big C brought this guy on not because he was good with restaurants, but because he had tech experience. Man! I learned so much from that job. Where was I going with this? Oh, and this blog post is really only possible because I’m shifting my dreams into 2nd or 3rd gear, I’m not sure which gear we’re in, but this blog post right here? This blog post is when the flywheel is separated from the clutch. This blog post, today, we are free, and just doing whatever the f___ we want because we are solo and take answers from nobody! At least…until we slam into the clutch again. Then we gotta do what the clutch does, but honestly, Clutch Knows Best. Logic comes through in the clutch. Good vibes always come through in the clutch.
You must have the ability to say no to drugs and alcohol if you are to enjoy days like the one I am having today. Personally, I am committing my life to my websites, because they are symbiotic with my writing, but your story will be different.
You must learn to enjoy the free-wheel moments of life. The moments where you feel really good, and perhaps moments that, in the past, might have broken your sobriety. You are going to have to learn to live with those moments, and allow them to fuel you! This is just how it feels to have a good day. These are the natural highs of life! You will learn to love them. But right now? They might be the moments where you succumb to your drug of choice, and if you are actively trying to quit, you probably know what I am talking about. Those moments where you feel so confident, you think I can do it just one more time, and I’m confident that this will be the farewell speech!
Wrong again, bitch. That’s what the drugs and alcohol say. You’re going to give that farewell speech when you’re sober, which sucks but it’s true. The drugs? Now they will give their farewell speech while you are high. Don’t give them the chance to say goodbye, your addictions, because those goodbyes are not memories that age well. Powerfully rip addiction from your life and throw it in the fucking compost! You will watch it rot, and you will watch it rot until it is no more, and then you will watch it grow into something else. I’m talking about your addiction. How can you do this? You gotta get one day of sobriety under your belt, and then you’ve gotta get one day of happiness under your belt, and then you’ve got to get one day of freewheel-flying under your belt – a day when you are happy, and healthy, and not even thinking about your addiction unless it is in a positive light. Addiction is like boot camp, you’ve only got to go through it once and then you are a veteran for life.
The time is 07:00 on the dot here in Florida. This blog post has been a bit all over the place, but nevertheless I firmly believe that introducing my writings into your daily recovery routine can make a positive impact. I’m hoping to inform and inspire! That’s Spark Twain for ya. So uhh…I’m going to try and conclude this whole thing now. I really do think I’ll have the new addiction recovery website up and running by tomorrow, although I haven’t spent too much time working on it yet. And I think I am just going to leave all 242 blog posts on this website, and then moving to the new website I will just start with 243. I could also start over again at number 1, but to me that doesn’t make sense. These daily blogs have been an evolution, and now I guess I feel like I’m getting pretty close to my final form, and that final form includes a personalized website, one that Google can better associate with addiction recovery and therefore show to the correct people. If you are looking for information about ASMR and you find this website, I am sure it’s nothing but confusion haha, yet at the same time if you are looking for addiction recovery, you might find this website and enjoy the articles, but still leave with many questions about why this addiction recovery blog is placed on a website seemingly named for a different topic. I used ASMR to help me get sober, but that’s where the association stops. I talk about wayy more than just recovery using ASMR with this blog. Plus, I have goals with my ASMR website that do not line up with the goals for my addiction recovery blog. I do see how these two topics and two entities can exist together, but it’s more important to note that I have learned how they can exist apart. ASMR needs special attention, and Addiction Recovery needs special attention, and I am able to provide that special attention in both direction, but it took me 8 months of constantly working on this website to understand that. Never give up on your dreams, and don’t confuse changing your direction with quitting. They are not the same thing! But sometimes it takes an outside reminder to feel confident about that.
So what can you expect? You can expect this daily blog to continue, tomorrow, at addictionrecoverydaily.com. You can also expect this website, asmr.community, to undergo some changes. My goal with this website is to allow for people to post their ASMR videos directly, and eventually move into the app format. It will be quite some time before that is the reality of the website. In the mean time, you can expect blog posts about ASMR, and other ASMR related content. Seriously! It’s that simple. I’m keeping it simple! Just ASMR. Doesn’t that make the most sense? And it’s amazing it took me so long to figure that out. I’ve owned this website for what will be two years in April. Two years! I’m definitely not moving fast on em! But when this time is right, I will go back to San Francisco, and I will raise some venture capital. It’s like regular capital, but vc is only for the brave. Or maybe it’s only for the foolish? There is only one way to find out!
I guess this is goodbye? Honestly it doesn’t really feel like I am going to accomplish everything I know I need to accomplish in order to get this blog up and running on my other site by tomorrow…but if I know myself, then it will actually get done and you will actually have to venture to find this blog. No matter what happens just remember one thing: I love you, and I believe in you.

Everyday Sobriety Advice
I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.
When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”
Good luck, My Friend
Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.
Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”
Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”
Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”
Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”
I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.
Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.
