Utilize It In Your Life
Today’s video of the day is no better or worse than yesterdays, but how you choose to utilize it in your life hopefully improves everyday. In fact, this is something we can work on together. Everyday I wake up…as early as possible, [today I woke up at 06:00, which is an hour later than I wanted to wake up (I always set two alarms just incase I need more sleep)], and then I write this article for you – and for me. Recently I’ve been feeling as if I am not doing these article justice, and so it’s time to step my game up. Much like when you gain sobriety, after you have a couple of months under your belt, it’s time to step your game up.
When you first quit your drug of choice – be that alcohol, heroin, crack, meth – cannabis, sugar, caffeine, fast food – I’ve only met a couple of people with a sex addiction, but it’s a real and dangerous thing…okay so first you have to decide what you want to eliminate from you life. When you have decided upon what you want to eliminate…and then you eliminate it…you should give yourself a lot of leeway. When I quit smoking cigarettes, I gave myself permission to overdo smoking cannabis, and when I quit alcohol, I gave myself permission to overdo consuming sugar. My consumption of both of cannabis and sugar did also, eventually get out of hand, but then I solved those problems, one by one, without having alcohol or tobacco interfering with my mental or physical abilities.
When you get Mercedes money, you go and buy a Mercedes. When you get that Bentley money, you go and cop that Bentley! This is basic stuff, first philosophized by the great Dwayne Carter in 2008.
My utilization of ASMR in overcoming alcoholism was not fast, and I want to make sure I don’t romanticize it for you. I watched ASMR for 3+ hours everyday during 2013, 2014, and 2015. Still, I had not quit drinking. I stopped blacking out everyday! By 2016 I would usually only drink on the weekends – not even every weekend – but every time I drank I would blackout. During the week I would smoke cannabis, and that was good for me. I was able to go to work. I worked at the autoparts store for 9 months and was stoned every single time I went in. They promoted me quite fast.
After I left Wisconsin, I realized that drinking until you black out can, at times, be a cultural thing. Nobody that I grew up around would ever say “I’ve had enough,” which I honestly didn’t understand the significance of until I met another individual from Wisconsin. We worked at the Green Tortoise together. She told me “The drinking culture out here is so much different. People cut themselves off. In Wisconsin, we stop drinking either when the bartender cuts you off, or you blackout. Right?”
Fuck man. Can you imagine how I felt? I almost never went to bars and drank, I just sat in my grandparents basement and drank. I’ve probably been to more bars since I stopped drinking than while I drank…okay, that’s definitely an exaggeration, because it’s definitely not true, but I remember more of the bars I’ve visited since I quit drinking.
How I felt was…Justified! All the medical professionals and experienced addicts would practically make fun of me when I told them I was moving to Seattle. “A lot of people try to solve their problems by relocating. It never works.” “It will seem at first like switching locations helps, but eventually you will fall back into your old habits.” “I tried that fix once. I moved to Las Vegas and I got high within 6 hours after arriving.”
Bruh, did you even try? I’m here, alive, sober, and I’m telling you that relocating from Milwaukee to Seattle, and then to San Francisco…and then traveling to Asia for 18 weeks…and then going back to San Francisco for 9 months, and now I’ve been in Florida for 9 months; I would not have been able to quit alcohol without relocating those many times. BUT it’s also important to understand that I wouldn’t have been able to quit if I had simply just moved. I had to do a lot of things in concurrence to quit.
I wrote another half-a-page, but without editing it properly it will only do more harm than good. I’ll see you tomorrow, you beautiful human.

Everyday Sobriety Advice
I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.
When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”

Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.
Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”
Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”
Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”
Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”
I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.
Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.
