The last time I saw Laylah was on Christmas eve of 2013. One of the saddest stories I tell is her’s, and so I won’t tell it to you again today, but if you want to read the article you need only click on her name. She’s dead, but she is not forgotten.

Neither is forgotten the circumstances. Gun violence. In 2016, Milwaukee police pulled more illegal weapons off the street that Chicago and New York combined. Now, obviously the police were making an extra special effort that year to find and confiscate illegal weapons, but the fact that it’s even possible to find and confiscate more guns than Chicago or New York is…pretty startling. Chicago has 2.7 million people. Milwaukee has 592,000. Theoretically there are 4x more guns in Chicago than Milwaukee, and I’m not even going to talk about New York!

Why is gun violence so prevalent in black communities? That’s a conversation that could take a whole semester, but if you are interested to read more on the subject check out Giffords.

However, little good will come of this talk if we ourselves are not in the position to support change. I firmly believe that if you have an addiction currently plaguing your life; an addiction that intervenes your productivity, and feels like it is sucking the soul away from you, then you’re in no position to begin fighting for, or supporting any cause greater than yourself. If you have a problem with alcohol or drugs, you gotta handle that shit before you can handle anything else! This is not to say you couldn’t get a hold of your problem, and within a short period of time overlap your recovery with a second thing, such as a job, a hobby, or a relationship. Seriously though, if you can’t change yourself, and you want to, then how are you going to change the world?

Whew! Let’s take a load off! Right? Addictions are stressful enough! It is important to maintain your vigilance in regards to what stresses occupy the world around you – things you will must deal with after your addiction has become “gotten a hold of.” However I do not believe that you should, today, stress yourself with the entropy of society, at least anymore than you have by reading the paragraphs above. Now is the time to r e l a x. Sit back, get ready to be pampered, and don’t give into anything except the urge to feel stress free.

Trigger The Tingles is a powerful ASMR opportunity for individuals seeking to fight addiction. First of all, her voice is that of an angel! Second of all, she has been providing the Community with quality content since 2017, and I expect that she will not discontinue this practice. This second aspect is so important, but often overlooked. Your journey to success will be a long journey, relatively speaking. It is important to choose individuals that will stick with you for the longevity of your journey, and I believe that Layla of Trigger The Tingles will continue making videos years down the road, so if you invest your time in building a virtual companionship with her, I think you will be investing your time wisely.

Everyday Sobriety Advice

I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.

When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”

Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.

Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”

Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”

Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”

Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”

I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.

Remember!

Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.
