Sin Chow Sobriety!
Ten dollars stronger. That’s what you will be after watching today’s Video Of The Day. Ten dollars is roughly the price for a bottle of liquor. There are different types of alcoholics whose problem manifests in different ways. Not all alcoholics are going to recognize with my story – which involved taking a two-hour round-trip walk through the snow to buy cheap alcohol from a British Petrol hundreds of times. Some addicts are not going to recognize with my story of sniffing heroin in a McDonalds bathroom, walking outside, asking the bus driver for directions, and then waking up to a gasping breathe with three firemen standing overhead. Do you recognize with my story – of spending 33 days in jail for getting pulled over while delivering a pizza, and getting caught with half an ounce + one percolate 30mg?
The craziest thing is that more people in America can relate to those three statements above then the one I am about to say next…
I went to Vietnam for six weeks in 2019. There are, of course, other American’s that have been to Vietnam, but there are almost certainly more American’s suffering from addiction. Addiction in America is an epidemic, and I am proud to be doing my part on the issue.
I’ve grown up an addict. It’s in my blood; it will never go away. I also grew up in the country where 80% of the opioids in the world are consumed, and cannabis has recently become legal. We are a land of drugs: America. Sometimes those drugs cause problems, and this is not a trick; I’m talking about addiction.
Are there people who do cocaine every once and a while and never receive any significant backlash because of it? Yes! That happens…that shit happens. Not for me though. I can get addicted to anything. This is why I have had to adopt the mindstate that is: Constant Vigilance.
Who would I be – to quit drinking Alcohol, but continue to drown myself in coffee, even if I decide that I am not satisfied with how it makes me feel? I want control. Well, these days, I have that shit. Control is my middle name. Spark F. Twain, and the F stands for Full Control.
Even with my level of control…and I speak of having control over my mind and my body…a holistic control; Even with my level of control, my addictions are apart of me, and so within reason, I let them have control. I keep them fed enough so they do not buck, yet I starve them enough so they slowly grow weaker overtime. I’ve moved the fight to a different battlefield. Fighting alcoholism on alcoholism’s turf was unnerving, and in the end impossible. First I had to leave Milwaukee, then I had to leave America. Before I left Milwaukee I was actively seeking help regarding my alcoholism. Nobody could help me except for myself!
You know what I’ve discovered? I need to keep moving.
I have control over my addictions to the point where, even if I get stuck in one place – such as Covid is stucking me where I am – I will not succumb to my achillies heal, which is alcoholism. Rapid experimentation has always been one of the most powerful tools in my addiction-recovery toolbox. For weeks at a time I will do things in a similar fashion, and then for weeks after I will do things differently. I do not do this on purpose, it just happens to be like that, but I let it happen, and I think that is what is important.
Traveling will not solve your addiction problem, but it might make you happy for other reasons, and then maybe you can start to uncover the answers to why you drink, or use, so much in the first place.

Everyday Sobriety Advice
I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.
When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”
Good luck, My Friend
Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.
Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”
Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”
Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”
Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”
I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.
Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.

If you are looking or more information about ASMR, I’ve found the best place to learn about the subject is ASMR University. Their information is accurate [to the best of my knowledge], and plentiful. I mostly work with the application of ASMR, but there is a whole lot more to ASMR than using it to gain sobriety or fall asleep, including the history and the science of it.
