The ASMR Daily 138
Peace Love and ASMR
Peace. It’s a thing that some people have, and some people have later. Today’s Video Of The Day is so cute and peaceful it practically pains me. Still, I’ve watched it twice; and the video only came out yesterday!
VIVA ASMR is the future!
Recently I’ve been into Korean ASMR, and I think that is for several reasons. One, I’ve been working a lot – between writing and getting my apparel company going – so I’ve been needing ASMR that I pairs well with concentration. Would you believe I’m listening VIVA right now?
It’s true! Such a good video. I read a whole article before I wrote this; getpocket is a terrible homepage if you’re trying to get work done. But seriously, that article is about humans and why we lost our fur. Sometimes I think about what it’s like to be human. Sometimes I just be human. With today’s ASMR video, I get to experience them both together!
Now this video came on. I really did read that whole article while listening to the above video. I also read the Wikipedia pages for Walter Mondale, Kamala Harris, her husband Douglas Emhoff. I don’t know if it’s obvious, but I didn’t read any of those Wikipedia pages in their entirety. The most exciting thing I’ve found since waking up at 01:30 is this photo of Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale together.
Walter Mondale is 49 years old in that photograph. Born in 1928, still alive today; photo was taken 1976. and yeah, I’m kind of on a weird sleep schedule. But! I’ve worked my whole life for this. I need freedom from work, but also, I am strongly drawn to the gnawing potential of capitalism. I love to write! But I also have a dream to keep myself busy running a business. Writing all the time…can drive you mad. Even Stephen King goes for walks.
You see, part of my sobriety is that I stay interested. I’ve always been interested! Way way way way way way way way back back in the day, I used to stay up all night, capacitating in different stages of discomfort, and as naturally drawn to thinking about ‘having a drinking,’ – as I will paraphrase my occasionally indifferent state of consumability – I was also naturally drawn to learning new things. Bouncing around on Wikipedia until the wee-hours of the morning, sometimes getting very stoned. Having a drink? It is also true that I would get drunk and surf the web, but to a different standard. I was drunk while I consumed The Vampire Chronicles. That was a good read, and I don’t think any less of my consuming it because of my incapacitation. Still, alcohol is not something which I can consume without getting consumed myself.
Humans have choice unlike any other animal, and the choice of what to consume is of top priority on the list. I no longer choose alcohol.

Everyday Sobriety Advice
I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.
When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”
Good luck, My Friend
Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.
Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”
Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”
Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”
Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”
I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.
Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.

If you are looking or more information about ASMR, I’ve found the best place to learn about the subject is ASMR University. Their information is accurate [to the best of my knowledge], and plentiful. I mostly work with the application of ASMR, but there is a whole lot more to ASMR than using it to gain sobriety or fall asleep, including the history and the science of it.
