The ASMR Daily 156
Plain Jane Brain Massage
To keep it simple…sometimes is so hard. But it could be easy! Today’s asmrtist is making it easy for us to have a wholesome, helpful, and simple session of relaxation.
Sapphire ASMR has not created new content in quite awhile, but I think it is important to diversify what you watch away from just the video’s that YouTube shovels onto your homepage. Big Tech has an agenda, and your relaxation is not part of that. Lucky for us I’m small tech.
I definitely care about your relaxation! Because I believe that chill vibes are required for a solid journey away from addiction.
Since I started this blog on April 1st, I have become much more comfortable directing my confidence and speaking about the way I live. I am an alcoholic, and an addict. I consider myself recovered, but how I live is not the clinical definition of “sober” by any means. Do I drink alcohol anymore? No. I haven’t drank alcohol in about 26 months, and I feel pretty good about that. In fact I feel great about it! However, I would not say that quitting alcohol and hard drugs [even before I quit drinking] solved all my problems. In fact, all that happened is, my problems got an upgrade. Instead of having alcoholic problems, now I have adulting problems…which translates to money problems haha. I write often and avidly about financial literacy. I grew up watching both of my parents handle their money poorly, and it wasn’t until I started traveling that I understood financial literacy. People in the Midwest don’t practice financial literacy as avidly as the individuals I met in California, but that might already be different with the gen z individuals. It’s a shame I have had to learn so many things about finances on my own, but alas, as is life!
Many of the same lessons I had to learn in order to quit drinking apply to financial literacy. Things like putting off satisfaction until later, and…well that’s the big one. Individuals who can push satisfaction off until a later date almost always have a better life. You want long term satisfaction, not short term satisfaction, and don’t let you emotions tell you otherwise!
Now, let’s push our problems back 10 minutes with some immediate satisfaction lol.
Everyday Sobriety Advice
I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.
When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”
Good luck, My Friend
Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.
Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”
Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”
Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”
Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”
I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.
Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.

If you are looking or more information about ASMR, I’ve found the best place to learn about the subject is ASMR University. Their information is accurate [to the best of my knowledge], and plentiful. I mostly work with the application of ASMR, but there is a whole lot more to ASMR than using it to gain sobriety or fall asleep, including the history and the science of it.
