The ASMR Daily 160
Happy Labor Day!
For the past thirteen days I’ve featured only black asmrtists for the Video Of The Day series, and although I did not plan to end this special edition on Labor Day, it is quite fitting. The United States has a history of fighting for labor rights, and although the rest of the world celebrates May Day, the USA and Canada celebrate Labor Day and Labor Day Weekend. Also, what a fantastic day to talk about the birth of American Police, and the future of Black Americans [I don’t actually touch on the history of American Police, but its well aware that the police exist to protect wealthy individuals].
The future of Black Americans is brighter than ever. Look around you. There have been protests for 100 days in a row in Portland. The people of America [and the world] want change, and the internet is going to give it to us. Unfortunately it’s going to take time. However, I read the other day that “the recent weeks of protesting has done more than 30 years of voting,” and although I can’t say that I agree with that statement, I think it makes a point in that people are even considering the idea!
Chynaunique recently gave birth to a daughter, and that little girl is not going to grow up in the same world that her mother did. What we are currently observing on the news and in our streets will be felt in the next 30 years of voting. Nothing can do what 30 years of voting can do, but it also matters who is running for office to. The other day I actually met someone running for local office. She is young, she is hip, and she might not have been wearing shoes. Her name is Rachel Brown. She is running for the District 27 seat of the Florida State Senate, and she’s got my vote!
Maybe we don’t need to get stressed today, you know? Everyone should probably be following Shaun King on Instagram, but sometimes it’s so hard to continue watching his page because like…damn! Violence is hard to watch. However for individuals in America that are black, they can not avoid the possibility that they could be a victim of police violence any day of the week. For that reason, is why I have featured only black asmrtists for the past two weeks. The police in America should be working for Chynaunique and myself in the exact same way…but that is not the case, and it’s something I honestly don’t know how to fix. It’s pretty fucked up that featuring black individuals on my website is somehow a form of protest. Of course, it’s also a form of celebration. My country is deeply indebted to the labor of black individuals. From George Washington Carver to Lebron James, America has had, and will continue to have, a great many black cultural icons. The fact that my government denies they are treating these individuals different their white subordinates is frustrating, but change is gonna come. Yes, it will.
The Unites States is on the shortlist for The Greatest Countries In The World, but I’m sure some of you wonder how I can be saying that while we are in the position we are in, as a country. You would be correct to cite that black residents are are not treated equally by the America Government and also too many of the America people. However I do like to think that the America economy, a device that has long been used to keep black individuals “down,” is a tool that black individuals can, today, use to bring themselves up. It’s not the solution! But it’s my solution. I believe in the economy.
Chynaunique has created a career for herself using YouTube, although I think we can all agree her level of success is unique.
First Black American’s had nothing. Then Black American’s slowly gained access to what I will summarize as the American dream. That’s…the end of the story. First slavery, then persecution, then separate but equal, and today? Equal but separate. Who would have thought the last pillars of persecution standing, would be the democratic pillars of elected officials? Yet, that is the case. Of course there are problems related to racism that extend far beyond the government, but racism shouldn’t be a political issue! If racism only existed outside of the government, maybe we could just wait for racists to die, but nonono; we need these people out of office. We might need a new political system entirely, and we definitely need a new policing system entirely. I’m sure most of your agree with this; the ASMR Community seems to be a fairly forward thinking group of individuals.
Happy Labor Day, yall. I’m sure that protests will still be happening in Portland in another 100 days, and so I will do another two weeks of solidarity of the Black Lives Matter movement at that time. Welcome to 2020, where silence is violence.

Everyday Sobriety Advice
I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.
When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”
Good luck, My Friend
Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.
Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”
Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”
Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”
Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”
I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.
Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.

If you are looking or more information about ASMR, I’ve found the best place to learn about the subject is ASMR University. Their information is accurate [to the best of my knowledge], and plentiful. I mostly work with the application of ASMR, but there is a whole lot more to ASMR than using it to gain sobriety or fall asleep, including the history and the science of it.
