How Bad Sponsorships Ruin Relaxation
The fact that today’s video has an off-putting sponsorship almost had me forego writing about it, but then I realized that now would be a good time to talk about ASMR and money…because if we expect money to be what guides everyone’s decisions, there is no chance that we will be disappointed by that realization later on.
While ASMR is mostly created to help reduce stress and anxiety, the sponsorship that Starling has chosen to work with for this video is a company that designs products specifically to cause stress and create anxiety in people, because stress and anxiety is what will cause an individual to start playing, and keep playing their game. I believe that if Raid was really a decent video game, they wouldn’t be investing so heavily in marketing [not that I am sure they are]. Mobile games are hardly ever stimulating, and mobile games that allow for in-app spending are extremely profitable and dangerously addictive [not that I’m sure this one does].
My mother is addicted to playing Candy Crush, and it’s heartbreaking to watch her play that game over and over again, because I don’t think she has any choice in the matter! I am certain that Candy Crush is designed to make people experiences feelings of longing when they are not playing the game.
My ranking of Starlings ASMR channel has gone from a solid 10/10, to a solid 7/10 with the addition of her Raid sponsorship. Screen time can ruin lives, and by exposing other individuals to – more than likely – addictive video games, I believe Starling is doing the world a disservice. I will never be convinced that any asmrtist is happy to be sponsored by Raid, but I am convinced they get paid for it. All of this being said as I have recently been playing Skyrim, and I also have never played Raid. The creators of Raid could be a group of youngsters that aim to make quality video games, but I get a more sinister vibe than that.
The only other sponsorship I see within the ASMR Community which I believe has strong negative connotations, is G-Fuel. That’s a company that Matty Tingles works with. Matty Tingles is proof that you do not have to make great sounds in order to become popular within the ASMR Community, but you must be good at networking.

Everyday Sobriety Advice
I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.
When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”
Good luck, My Friend
Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.
Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”
Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”
Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”
Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”
I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.
Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.

If you are looking or more information about ASMR, I’ve found the best place to learn about the subject is ASMR University. Their information is accurate [to the best of my knowledge], and plentiful. I mostly work with the application of ASMR, but there is a whole lot more to ASMR than using it to gain sobriety or fall asleep, including the history and the science of it.
