The ASMR Daily 35

Did you know that May is mental health awareness month? Personally, I am kind of an old school Vince Lombardi type-of guy when it comes to mental health. I know, I know! It’s not the modern way, but for you to think I am too extreme is to let your expectations precede you. The fact is: I was successful in overcoming the addictions that plagued my life.

You too can overcome addiction! But it’s not going to be easy. To think that a rehab program is going to help you, I disagree. It is true that programs help many people the world across; inpatient programs, outpatient programs. However, I believe that these programs are little more than the government’s [are these rehab clinics not subsidized?] “best efforts” at solving the addiction crisis of America, and that the people who are successful in these programs were at the ‘end of their rope’ anyway [almost everyone that attends addiction recovery groups are there by court order].

Also, those with a lot of money have been known to succeed at rehab programs.

When I try and find information about the percentage of people court ordered into rehab vs voluntarily checked in, I cannot seem to find that information [I haven’t done enough research, obviously]. What I did find! Is a lot of rehab facilities trying to get me to sign up.

If you are searching around the internet for ways to get sober, I pray to Hawking that you find my page, because I actually believe I can help you. Now! Do I believe that the individuals who work for these rehab centers are quality workers with good intentions? Heck YES! In fact, some of the best inspiration I received to quit was from healthcare workers. That doesn’t change the fact that, if you are not meeting these healthcare workers on your own terms, then you are not going to be mentally prepared to accept their advice, and so how could you succeed using it? Addiction Recovery is a vibe, and being court ordered to get your life together is a very different vibe.

Remember, I was voluntarily in my program [which was an outpatient, 4 times a week, 2 hours each time, for three months. I stopped going after 1 month, but spent the following 7 months alcohol free]. I also checked myself into a detox facility [the detox and inpatient were all within the same hospital building. I got into detox by checking myself into the emergency room] three or four times between 2013 and 2016.

I knew I was a lost boy, and I was looking for someone who could teach me how to fly.

Should you check yourself into voluntary rehab after reading this article? Well, first of all, rehab/detox costs money, while reading this blog is free. Second, since it’s quarantine season, rehab/detox centers are probably having issues operating due to their need to gather in groups. However, nothing I put on this blog can replace the knowledge that medical professionals have, and so if you feel you need to speak with a professional, have no shame, and go speak to one!

“Did you go to group today?” Corona V asked in diabolical rhetoric.

That’s funny because…they call it group…when you are in rehab…but you can’t gather in groups right now. That’s funny, right? Well, maybe not. Seriously though, you don’t need that group. You need…to tear yourself down, and rebuild from the ground up. At least if you are drinking/using in the same capacity that I did. [She’s so HEAVY!]

Mellow ASMR

Triangle breathing is the most basic form of breathing you can do, and in today’s video you will be guided through the process by someone I trust; Mellow [by the end of the article, my trust is gone. Watch today’s video before he deletes it!] This is the kind of video that will allow you to start your day strong, whether you leave your bed, or not.

The exact amount of time escapes me, but in the recent past, this man went by Mellow ASMR. When he changed his name to the moniker “Mellow” I was a bit distraught, but overtime I have come to believe that he might be up to something much greater than, simply, being a popular asmrtist [that was before he deleted his videos]. Mellow, who’s real name is Matt, is a nurse. I mean seriously, he is a legally licensed RN (I think) [what kind of nurse he is/was, I am not exactly sure].

Wow! I just went to his page to find the video where he talks about being a nurse, so I could cite that he is actually an RN, and all his videos are gone. I didn’t really realize that when I began writing this…how sad. His videos were some of the best asmr videos that ever existed, and unfortunately…unfortunately I have to say it was selfish of him to delete his videos simply because he couldn’t deal with the pressures of fame. I’m not saying he has to keep creating videos, but to delete the old ones? Millions and millions of drugs addicts the world over were going to be helped by your videos, Matt, I was going to make sure of it.

Everyone is going to think I am a bad person for saying what I just said, but I do whatever it takes/say whatever it takes to fight for the drug addicts and alcoholics. Matt has angered me by doing what makes him happy lol. Luckily for both of us, capitalism allows for this. It’s not like there will never be another Mellow ASMR. It’s more like…there never was a Mellow ASMR.

Well, that’s all folks! I sincerely hope that this triangle breathing exercise can help you today, either to maintain your anxiety in regards to addiction, or just in regards to general life, and the motions of society. Tough times don’t last, but tough people do! Now that’s the kind of mantra Lombardi would meditate to.

Everyday Sobriety Advice

I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.

When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”

Good luck, My Friend

Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.

Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”

Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”

Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”

Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”

I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.

Remember!

Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.

If you are looking or more information about ASMR, I’ve found the best place to learn about the subject is ASMR University. Their information is accurate [to the best of my knowledge], and plentiful. I mostly work with the application of ASMR, but there is a whole lot more to ASMR than using it to gain sobriety or fall asleep, including the history and the science of it.
