The ASMR Daily 53

Today we have a video that is quite special to me, because it is the first ASMR video I ever watched! Well, to be honest, I can’t really be 100% certain about a thing like that, because my memory fails me on a routine basis. Let’s get real: I’ve used a lot of drugs an alcohol. That being said, I have long stuck to the story of: “I watched this video first [which was VOTD 28], and then in the suggested video’s [you know, the one’s on the right side of the screen] I discovered [today’s Video Of The Day].”
Check it out!

What do you think?! Is that old-school ASMR or what?!? I mean seriously, if today’s video isn’t a time-capsulated representation of where ASMR came from, then idk what is!

The Water Whispers Ilse has long been one of my favorite ASMR channels, not only because I have an innate bond with the channel, but also because she’s just. damn. good.

It also happens to be, that today’s video was my first exercise in ASMR Sobriety. So, really, that video is what birthed the ASMR Community Sobriety Program…which is what you’re reading. Now, that doens’t mean questing for sobriety must be why you’re here, or why you choose to read the blog. All However, you should know that by using this website to further your knowledge on the subject of ASMR, you are supporting the fight against alcoholism and drug addiction, as well as PTSD, autism, and other illnesses which afflict our world more and more every year.

This is a young, fresh blog; new on the scene, but expansion and growth is a logical next step for anything which is young, and the direction I am expanding in is: Alcoholism, Addiction + PTSD, and Autism. Those are four groups of individuals that I believe can benefit heavily from the under-studied effects of ASMR. It’s not just about watching the video’s, it’s about watching the video’s with a purpose.

I find it is important to remind people: “you vote with your dollar.” In the case of media consumption, you also vote with your time! That’s right! Whoever you are watching, reading, listening to, or just generally consuming, you are giving that person your money [time IS money] through the medium of advertising revenue. For this reason it is important to be vigilant, and aware of how you “spend” your time. Personally I believe that if you are spending your time watching ASMR, that’s time well spent. However there is A LOT of content available for consumption which I conclude is unhealthy for the individual, and for society as a whole.

My father often tells me I am too aggressive in my approach to life, and today, I feel it. Nobody wants to do the difficult thing, and I know that now [I used to think everyone liked a challenge! But most people do not like a challenge]. It’s easy to work with alcoholics and addicts, because they will almost always reach a point where the desire to change is on a personal level. The hardest individuals to reach and work with are the one’s that get comfortable living a life that does not postulate personal growth.

What that means is, while I encourage some people to watch more ASMR, there are also going to be some people I encourage to watch less ASMR. I’m a little nervous to say that, because I know that no asmrtist wants to hear that, and I know that the person watching ASMR all the time to get through their day doesn’t want to hear that. However, I do the right thing, and the right thing to promote growth. The right thing doesn’t always feel good…until it does.

Everyday Sobriety Advice

I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.

When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”

Good luck, My Friend

Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.

Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”

Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”

Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”

Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”

I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.

Remember!

Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.

If you are looking or more information about ASMR, I’ve found the best place to learn about the subject is ASMR University. Their information is accurate [to the best of my knowledge], and plentiful. I mostly work with the application of ASMR, but there is a whole lot more to ASMR than using it to gain sobriety or fall asleep, including the history and the science of it.
