How The Pronounce "Nike"
Did you know that in England they say Nike without the “ee” sound at the end? You never know what you might learn watching an ASMR video! I’ve said it before, and I will say it again: If Life is The Universe experiencing itself, then ASMR is The Internet experiencing itself.
ASMR brings exactly what we thought the internet would bring: foggy back-alleys full of people whispering to you, and a lot of them are trying to sell you on some weird shit, dude. The women are always beautiful, and some of them even get naked! The men are always beautiful too, but besides Tippy Tappy I’m not sure how many of them are getting naked. For that, we thank you, Sir Tappy.
Who do you think the first ASMR Knight will be forreal though?

Those are some dope shoes! The PlayStation [anyone else hear that in a robots voice?] ones are the bee’s knees! The website Goat says they go for $60 used, but I bet you could get double or triple that on eBay, especially after The Wait Depression ends. It could also be called The Depression-Depression, because of the mental health crisis that existed before this economic crisis even showed up – the economic crisis that might not exist if we addressed the underlying problem of mental health; in America? Worldwide?
In an interview with Kinsey Grant on the Business Casual podcast, Founder of the Huffington Post and Thrive Global founder and CEO Arianna Huffington states: “You know, ancient philosophers defined a good life very differently than modern society. We’ve reduced a good life down to success, and have reduced success down to money and status, and I think we are paying a heavy price. I mean even before the corona virus crisis, we had a mental health crisis; people trying to find meaning, dealing with skyrocketing rates of depression and anxiety. These two things are connected.”
It could also be called The Repression-Depression, because #BlackLivesMatter.
Due to myriad issues caused by systemic racism in America, population density in black communities is often high. Combine that with lack of access to healthcare resources and improperly funded education, it is easy to understand why the black communities in America [and other minority groups racially and economically segregated] are more at risk of falling victim to this pandemic than the often-times white, more wealthy demographics.
When it comes to fighting alcoholism, I believe it is important to concern yourself with the larger problems of the world; part of a helpful and personal reminder that your problem is small-and-solvable. I’m not minimizing alcoholism – let’s get real! I am an alcoholic! But I do understand that before you can better the welfare of those you care about, you must first bring your own welfare up to par. It’s wise to find something you care about, and then care about it wholeheartedly.
I still can’t believe they pronounce Nike without the “ee” sound in Britain! Do you think they say it that way in the commercials? Is the Nike culture of the UK different than that of the US? Hmm. These are the things one learns to question when they expose themselves to new cultures, and ASMR is a phenomenal way to learn about the world and the people living in it. Personally, I hope Tippy Tappy does some videos that expose us to English Culture more. Perhaps a video where he shows us all the things he calls “thingy,” or something cute like that.

Everyday Sobriety Advice
I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.
When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”
Good luck, My Friend
Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.
Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”
Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”
Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”
Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”
I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.
Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.

If you are looking or more information about ASMR, I’ve found the best place to learn about the subject is ASMR University. Their information is accurate [to the best of my knowledge], and plentiful. I mostly work with the application of ASMR, but there is a whole lot more to ASMR than using it to gain sobriety or fall asleep, including the history and the science of it.
