The ASMR Daily 203
Walking Into The Fire
Today we have a stream of consciousness video, in a sense. At least, that’s what Phoenician Sailor announces the video to be. I’m down. I’ve been a stream of consciousness blogger since 2017. At least, that’s what my Instagram says.
Today’s video is long, and probably very boring [I’m not finished watching it yet], but I think it’s perfect for individuals amidst addiction recovery. He is talking about his life, his struggles…he talks about the East Coast; I’m a West Coast guy. I’m in Florida right now, down by Fort Myers, so I’m still west coastin it haha.
Phoenician Sailor reminds me of myself in ways; he is a kind of a negative person. Sailor Gloom, bro! You must know you’re negative. He knows it, and I know he knows it. Intriguing. The only Asmrtist I would compare him to would be ER, but ER is definitely not a negative person. All of this begin said, Phoenician Sailor’s channel, I’m learning, is one of the better ASMR Channels for individuals in addiction recovery. When you [not you] are overcoming alcoholism or drug addiction, it’s very easy to get sucked into a negative vibe and have your heart fill up with hate. My heart will always be full of hate due to my younger self letting me down so hard. But my heart is large, and it’s not 100% full of hate. It’s obvious that Sailor’s heart is not 100% full of hate either.
Miami was my introduction to Florida. I left San Francisco on a complete whim, took a bus to LA, then to Vegas, and then flew to Miami and it just happened to be Superbowl week . It was really a good experience, but I know that I didn’t get the whole experience. Although I did buy weed from the Uber driver that took me from the airport to South Beach, and so Miami will forever have a good connotation in my mind. I judge a city on how freely their people use cannabis. If your municipality throws me in jail for smoking weed, I will never visit that place again. Your loss, Waukesha!
Okay, I’m going to take a quick second here to both inform you of something, and run a test. As you know, I write a daily blog [uhh what?], and in an effort to be a regular artist as opposed to a starving artist, I am implementing rapid experimentation on different methods of monetization. So many people want things for free, and that’s why I write about the economic philosophy of faith. Nothing is free. The least something can cost is money; the most is life.
It is my great pleasure to tell you that I am now an affiliate for Barrie House Coffee Roasters! Now, this is the test part, because one time I got approved to affiliate with a coffee company, but…it just didn’t work. Their website was having problems or something, and the link they gave me didn’t work. Does this one work? [The links didn’t work, and the links from Commission Junction have never worked for me. I am planning to close my CJ account]. Ideally, if you click either of the hyperlinks in this paragraph and make a purchase from Barrie Coffee within 30 days [from the same I.P. Address you clicked the link from], I will make a 10% commission on anything you purchase, and in turn you will be directly supporting this blog – simply by consuming high quality coffee! Although I make a 10% commission, you don’t get charged extra for that.
Mmmkay; I just had to announce that. I only got approved as an affiliate yesterday. I can also make a commission by recommending Crayola, and Camelbak products, and although I am certain I can write/talk about how those items can help individuals in addiction recovery, coffee is much more practical. I drink coffee everyday, and I won’t lie to you! I haven’t tried Barrie Coffee yet, but I will probably post a link to their site at least twice per week, and within the next two weeks I will definitely have consumed their product. If the coffee is not up to my standards, you will be informed of that, and then you will stop seeing their product links. However…I catch good vibes with Barrie. Good vibes. I’m just trying to be transparent here.
Back to the lecture at hand! Perfection is perfected, and that’s something Sailor and I both understand. This man is perfect at being himself. Relentlessly your own; can you comply? Can you be what the world needs you to be?! If you’re struggling with addiction – and there are so many addictive substances readily available – you are probably already good at being yourself. Now you need to strive to be the best version of yourself! If you are reading this blog, then I deem that you are making a very vigilant effort to control your substance abuse. If you’re just here for the ASMR, then you are learning about how to help those who suffer from addiction. One aspect I believe many addicts [and people in general] don’t talk about, or deny is a contributing factor to their addictions and life-problems, is money. Cash flow. Something to fall back on. An emergency fund. Even a small amount in your savings account that you don’t touch. We will cover this tomorrow. Having money’s not everything, but not having it is.
I look forward to publishing many more articles inspired by Phoenician Sailor. Yesterday I wrote about him, and the video definitely took me by surprise because I honestly didn’t think it would help individuals become less anxious. But I realize now that, actually, his videos will be some of the most powerful ASMR videos for those in addiction recovery. They do need some prefacing though, I think, or people might just get scared and run away. He’s intense. But intensity might be what you need! I’ll hold your hand as we walk into the fire. Are you ready?

Everyday Sobriety Advice
I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.
When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”
Good luck, My Friend
Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.
Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”
Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”
Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”
Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”
I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.
Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.

If you are looking or more information about ASMR, I’ve found the best place to learn about the subject is ASMR University. Their information is accurate [to the best of my knowledge], and plentiful. I mostly work with the application of ASMR, but there is a whole lot more to ASMR than using it to gain sobriety or fall asleep, including the history and the science of it.
