What Do You Want To Leave Behind?
Life does not come with a map, and it would be foolish of me to lie and say I have had an easy time navigating mine. I dream that my best days are in front of me, but that is no way to live. My strongest efforts are put forth making sure that I live in the moment, but sometimes the moment has no place for a dreamer. Of course, someday I am going to die, and what will be left but my writing? Oh…I guess there will be some video too; I forget that sometimes. I digress, but today I ask you a simple question:
What do you want to leave behind?
If you suffer from addiction, then you, much like me, are probably a dreamer. How else would you be able to spend so much time in that head of yours? Everybody has their happy place, and I am proud to say that my happy place no longer contains ice cold drinks. It’s hella smoky, and there are naked people everywhere, but there is no alcohol, meth, heroin, or Donald Trump supporters. If it makes you angry that I am saying that, don’t stop reading. I seriously think I can help you with your addiction crisis. If you don’t think it’s a crisis, that’s all in your head; it’s a crisis. Or it’s not! Deep down, you know, you already know.
Addiction is a plague that permeates every culture, ethical background, age group, and it’s spread pretty even throughout political backgrounds. Although with political affiliations, it’s not exactly an even split. It’s no coincidence that 77 of the 82 counties in America with the highest rate of opioid deaths voted for Trump in 20161. You have every right to disagree with what I am about to say, and you can try to argue it in your head, but I’ve never been to college and so everything I’m about to say is based on how I feel, and you can’t discount feelings. I’ve been a lot of places, and I honestly believe young people growing up in republican counties, especially in this age of the internet will have continue to have increasing substance abuse problems, more so than in democratically dominated counties. Hopefully I am wrong, because people will have a hard time coming to terms with that fact, and it would probably just stress people out and make them consume more. But there is a reason people like the cities more than the countryside, and almost all cites are democratically run.
Does the thought of being naked make you uncomfortable? Then you might be at higher risk for addiction. I have no proof of that, but it is an observation I have made over the years. Do you believe me when I say it? haha. I have no reason to lie.
When I first got introduced to hard drugs, I didn’t do them because I thought they were cool. The first time I did hard drugs, I only participated because I was bored. BORED! Can you believe that? My first experience with hard drugs was at 17 years old when I took methadone; if you want to hear other parts of that story you will have to read this article. I am currently working on producing more lengthy pieces of writing to educate individuals about both ASMR and Addiction, which basically just means I need to sit down and spend some time writing my story. It’s my story, and so I get to write it. But sometimes I feel like God damned me for having to live it too! Woe is me! A writer with a real story to tell!
The time is 11:25 in the evening and I just got done watching ASMR Sharm’s Livestream. Shit gets wild af on her livestreams, and they always seem to occur right when I go to bed, so I keep watching! If you are having trouble maintaining sobriety, I suggest you show up to one of Sharm’s livestreams [I don’t know her streaming schedule offhand, I’m sorry], and I further suggest that you participate in the chatroom. I honestly think that both the YouTube comments section, and the live chats available during livestreams will grow and become two of the best places to get real, down to earth, no bs addiction recovery advice. Heck! You might even find me in chatroom of her livestream! I can’t make that promise, but I can promise you will find Sharm there, because it’s her party. The time is now 11:41 and I’ve been listening to Sharm this whole time, but also I’ve just been chillin on my phone. Not the move when I am going to wake up at 5 or 6 in the morning and finish this article [the first half of this article I wrote this morning, November 6th]. Then what will the rest of the day bring? Oh! I go to downtown Fort Myers to sell tyedye on Fridays! That should be fun. Hopefully I sell some shirts! Wish me luck! Also, if you want to support my writing, you can check out the two online stores I run. Go to asmr.community/shop for some kick-ass ASMR gear, or you can go to twainstyedye.com and get 5 tyedye shirts for $80! Isn’t that the plug? I think selling bulk tyedye might actually be the one; the way I come to support myself as a writer! Honestly though, it takes such a long time to build a brand. That’s what I am learning!

Everyday Sobriety Advice
I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.
When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”
Good luck, My Friend
Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.
Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”
Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”
Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”
Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”
I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.
Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.

If you are looking or more information about ASMR, I’ve found the best place to learn about the subject is ASMR University. Their information is accurate [to the best of my knowledge], and plentiful. I mostly work with the application of ASMR, but there is a whole lot more to ASMR than using it to gain sobriety or fall asleep, including the history and the science of it.
