What’s Your Biggest Dream? After Getting Sober!

What’s your biggest dream? The one where you know that if you don’t follow through with, you will regret is upon your death bed? I think we all have one of those dreams. My father says he doesn’t have one, but on the contrary, I’ve learned that everyone has one of those dreams; at least until they accomplish it. Some people are scared to talk about it. I won’t tell you my wildest dream, but I will tell you that I have the ability to obtain my wildest dream…if I suddenly become brave! Haha. I’m kidding. I’m pretty sure I just have to do it. First of all, that’s where the money is, second of all…

The past reflects eternally between two mirrors – the bright mirror of words and deeds, and the dark one, full of things we didn’t do or say.” – Roberts, Gregory David; Shantaram*Chapter Two.

Which mirror will you be looking into? We all have good, and even great things that we have done in our lives, but if we can agree on anything having to do with darkness, it’s that it sucks you in. The dark mirror probably sucks you in. My grandfather, bless his 84 year old self, is often sucked in by the dark mirror of things he didn’t do or say. I’m witnessing it in real time, and it is a sad, stark reminder for me to live my life the the fullest, the only time I’ll get to live it. How are you feeling today? Welcome to Sunday. I get serious about life on this blog everyday of the week, and Sunday is no different.

Did yall watch the tap-off on Gibi’s Twitch? My hometown hero Batala took the crown, and I feel kind of bad because I honestly believed Raffy Taphy would win, although I didn’t watch the event, so I wasn’t cheering anyone one. I was selling my tyedye shirts in Downtown Fort Myers! I actually did pretty good this week, being that I sold a couple shirts for the first time in a while. My inventory is expanding, and I have been even considering moving into vintage clothes. People buy vintage clothing more than people are selling it…it’s kind of crazy. If you are struggling with addiction and you think that one of the underlying causes of your addiction might have to do with money, I suggest starting a sidehustle, and I can not express more clearly: Vintage Clothing is going to be a growing market for 20+ years; I honestly believe that. Recycling is the future, and if you are picking and selling vintage clothing, you are the future. I am not the future, with my Tyedye shirts, however I try to remain vigilant that the future exists, and I make a strong effort to produce garments that will still be here in 20, or even 30 years. You can check out the ASMR Apparel shop here, and in fact, any purchases you make after clicking this link will generate Sleeping Artist ASMR a 25% commission. She is one of our ASMR Affiliates, and we are very happy to be able to split the profits of a business among members of the ASMR Community.

Money is the cheapest thing there is, and somehow it’s even cheaper in the ASMR Community. Here at ADC [ASMR dot Community], we make a valiant effort to remind individuals within the ASMR Community to stay vigilant in regards to their own economy. Both batalasasmr.com and amykayasmr.com are for sale right now. You could buy those for $12 and sell them for $500. I’d rather have someone who reads this blog do that than some random techie that has zero interest in ASMR. Techies are paying their bills already. I don’t know what you do for a living, but this is a good come-up. Buying and selling vintage clothing is a business, whereas buying and selling websites is an investment. You might never sell the websites! You will almost certainly sell the vintage clothes. More people wear clothes than buy websites, that’s just how it goes. AND for posterities sake, I’ll let you know that I’ve never had it demonstrated to me that letting someone know they should buy their own website will come back to benefit you. Just buy that ish and sell it to them. You will never get paid equivalently by telling them. I’ve told multiple individuals with over 10k Instagram followers that they should buy their own website, and then they did, and I’ve hardly ever received a “Thank You.” Now I never ask or inform. I just buy.

Everyday Sobriety Advice

I am a recovered alcoholic/drug addict, but I am not a qualified addiction counselor. To help other alcoholics/addicts achieve sobriety, I have created the mantra’s below. Although I call them “steps,” I believe that all four mantra’s should be recited in concurrence.

When the urge to drink alcohol or use drugs comes upon you, I suggest reciting these four steps, and then implementing an activity to “kill time” until your urge to use drugs/alcohol is less intense. I suggest you use ASMR videos to “kill time”

Good luck, My Friend

Below are the steps of admittance required for using The ASMR.Community Sobriety Program [ACSP] successfully.

Step 1: “Sobriety is a choice, and it is up to me to make the right choice.”

Step 2: “Not everybody will be able to achieve sobriety, but that knowledge does not prevent my success regarding sobriety.”

Step 3: “The urge to imbibe (substances that I know will prevent my success) is finite. Sometimes the urge will exist, sometimes the urge will not exist.”

Step 4: “Sobriety is not the same for everyone. Success is.”

I believe the steps I listed above are a complete, non-exclusionary list of all mental admissions needed to achieve your goals regarding sobriety.

Remember!

Everybody’s definition of sobriety is different, but everybody’s definition of success is the same.

If you are looking or more information about ASMR, I’ve found the best place to learn about the subject is ASMR University. Their information is accurate [to the best of my knowledge], and plentiful. I mostly work with the application of ASMR, but there is a whole lot more to ASMR than using it to gain sobriety or fall asleep, including the history and the science of it.
